A.R. Rahman's music career spans over four decades, with a diverse portfolio of film scores, pop albums, and collaborations. He rose to fame with his debut album "Roja" in 1992, which won him the National Film Award for Best Music Direction. His breakthrough in Hollywood came with the score for "Slumdog Millionaire" in 2008, earning him two Academy Awards for Best Original Score and Best Original Song for "Jai Ho".

Rahman's notable works include "Bombay", "Dil Se..", "Lagaan", "The Lord of the Rings", and "127 Hours". He has worked with top directors like Mani Ratnam, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and Danny Boyle. With over 100 million records sold worldwide, Rahman is one of the best-selling artists in India.

He has received numerous accolades, including six National Film Awards, two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards, and a Padma Bhushan. Rahman was also named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by TIME magazine in 2010.
